You’ve decided that your yard needs a fence. The next step would be looking into your options – what type of fence do you need? You have to think about what kind of purpose it will serve, your budget, what type of fencing other homes in your area have and any homeowner’s association rules that might restrict or dictate the type of materials you use.
Wood Fence
This is the most popular of all fences. You can do so many fabulous looks – from traditional to modern – and the price is just right as well. The only problem with this is that wooden fences require maintenance. They need to be painted or sealed or stained. Wood fences offer better security protection and greater privacy than most other types of fencing materials, but they don’t hold up as well as some of the synthetic-material fences. They need to be replaced more often than other types of fences.
Aluminum Fence
This fence is easy to install, plus aluminum material requires less maintenance and is easy to clean. On the downside, aluminum fences do not do a great job when it comes to providing security because it is not as strong as steel, this material is very lightweight, making it easily bendable from contact or even a strong wind.
Vinyl Fence
Vinyl fences are completely maintenance free, and they’re five times stronger than wood. They can contain pets, and can be built around playgrounds and pools to protect children.
Chainlink Fence
This is the most economical solution and, if you have pets, it’s a great way to contain them. While they’re not the most appealing, it’s an inexpensive, durable, and low-maintenance option.
